In the past year, international media has used the most beautiful words to describe a new travel destination in Vietnam: The Golden Bridge. The name itself incite much curiosity. Yes, that bridge is indeed gold-plated, to enhance its beauty as it stands within nature.
Where is the Golden Bridge?
The Golden Bridge is 148.6m long, at an altitude of 1414m from sea level which is located in Truong Son mountains, within the Ba Na Hills resort, nearly 30km to the West of Da Nang city. It was built from July 2017 to April 2018. The project was designed by the Center for Research and Design of Landscape Architecture (TA Landscape Architecture), under Ho Chi Minh City Architectural University. Golden Bridge is paved with Merawan Giaza wood and the handrail is made from stainless steel which is then gold plated. The bridge loops nearly back around to itself. It has two carving stone hands with 2m-diameter fingers designed to appear to support the structure. The Golden Bridge is built to connect the Marseille cable car station with Le Jardin d’Amour flower garden in Ba Na Hills resort and to provide a scenic overlook as tourist attraction.
History
Vietnamese investment has been made on the building of Ba Na Hills Resort since 1997. But it only became a major attraction when the record high cable car routes were completed and thus people were able to travel up and down the Hills in comfort. This amazing resort has been continuously upgraded and expanded to cater to the increasing number of tourists. Historically, Ba Na was first sought by the French in 1901, originally to find a place with ideal weather conditions for the construction of holiday buildings. In 1928 the road to Ba Na peak was completed. By 1937, Ba Na became the most famous resort in Annam (Central of Indochina). However, the French works were completely destroyed and sunk into oblivion after the Vietnam war
In addition, there are many stories surrounding the name of Ba Na. Firstly, many people believed that when the French came here, they found a lot of banana trees in the area. This place was therefore named after banana trees. However, locals believe that Ba Na is the name of the mountain Godess or Por Nagar of the Champa ethnic. In any case, the mystique and mystery make Ba Na more magical to visitors.

Because it is built in a high cool place thus giving it a wonderful climate. Ba Na is then referred to as “the Spring of France”. Even in summer the average temperature is only 18C in summertime. Apart from swimming in one of the world’s most beautiful beaches (accorded by Forbes in 2005), admiring the view of the majestic landscape from the Golden Bridge is definitely a highlight of your visit to Da Nang
