Mui Ne is a famous tourist destination in Central Vietnam, this town was once called “The Resort Capital” in Vietnam.
October 24th, 1995
Mui Ne is a coastal fishing town in Binh Thuan Province, Central Vietnam. The town, with approximately 25,000 residents, is a ward of the city of Phan Thiet. This town have been transformed into a resort destination since the mid 1990s, when many visited the area to view the solar eclipse of October 24, 1995. In that year, Mui Ne and Phan Thiet city were the best places to observe eclipse.
Although the eclipse has passed, the wildness of nature and the characteristics of a coastal region have kept many people coming back to Mui Ne. Since the eclipse event in 1995, a series of luxury resorts have been invested and built. Most notably, tourism has developed in the area from the Phan Thiet city center to Mui Ne, which has more than a hundred beach resorts, as well as restaurants, bars, shops and cafes.

Mũi Né
The name of the town has been told that fishermen often come here for hiding when they encounter storms in the sea. “Mui” means a cape; “Ne” means to evade or escape from a thunderstorm.

Nowadays, Mui Ne is well known for unique white sand dunes, featuring several lakes and even swamps straight in the middle of sandy terrain. When visiting this town, you can not miss the opportunity to drive the ATVs to watch the sunrise peeking through the sand dunes. You can visit this destination almost any month of the year. However, the best time is from December to April when the weather is cool and clear. Avoid July and August because of red algae in seawater.
